Power is out and trees are down in many Mentor neighborhoods. Mentor residents needing emergency shelter can take refuge at the Mentor Senior Center located at 8484 Munson Road. The facility will be open starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 providing warmth and food. Transportation to the shelter may be arranged by calling Laketran at 440-354-6100. During this emergency, 48 hour advance notice is not required.

Residents who need to take shelter at the Senior Center are advised to pack a bag with items to cover a 24 to 48 hour period. Please bring any medications that you may need, and phone numbers of relatives or friends that you may need to notify of your location. Do not bring pets to the Senior Center.

Those with special medical needs should call ahead to 440-255-1100 to make arrangements. After 5 PM,  call the Police Non-emergency number at 440-255-1234..
