Work on the concrete portion of the Road Program has begun in the Pinegate Subdivision. Although work has been temporarily suspended for the full depth concrete repairs, the contractor will perform full depth repairs on the following streets throughout the summer: Norwood Drive, Pinewood Court, Gatewood Drive, Aspenwood Court, Foxwood Court, Ramblewood Drive, Cannon Ridge Drive, Snowberry Court, Curberry Drive, Catalpa Circle, Canterbury Lane and Yellowwood Drive.

The Westbound traffic is scheduled to switch over to the new lanes the following week.

Signs will be posted to warn motorists that the tracks are closed.

During this work, all westbound traffic will be detoured to follow Market Street to Center Street.

This detour will be in place for ten business days or January 20th.

*UPDATED*Phase V State Route 2 Modernization, Painesville…State Route 2 between Newell Street and the Grand River remains one lane in each direction. The recent rainfall has delayed the striping and guardrail asphalt operations. The contractor cannot restore this area to two lanes in each direction until all items are in place and it is safe for the traveling public. Weather permitting, they anticipate opening all lanes in mid-December. Occasional lane and ramp closures may be utilized during nonpeak times. The entire project rehabilitates SR 2 between Newell Street and the Grand River and work on eight bridges. Tentative completion date: June 30, 2012.

The north and southbound Lost Nation Road entrance ramps to SR 2 westbound are closed until approximately late-October 2011 as mainline paving work takes place in the area. Motorists will be detoured Erie Road to Vine Street.

*UPDATED* Phase III State Route 2 Major Rehabilitation and Lane Addition, Mentor, Painesville and Painesville Township

Through Tuesday, October 4 at 8 p.m., crews will close the SR 615 north and southbound turning lanes to enter SR 2 east and westbound daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in order to perform bridge painting operations. Access to the ramps will be maintained.

Lane restrictions are in place on all SR 615 ramps at SR 2 as crews perform pavement operations. Intermittent lane closures along SR 2 east and westbound are expected through October 2011 and will not impact rush hour traffic.

SR 2 traffic between SR 306 and SR 44 will be maintained with two lanes in each direction through the duration of the project.

During this phase of construction, it is recommended that motorists use an alternate route to access SR 2. No official detour will be posted, but it is recommended motorists access SR 2 from either SR 306 or Heisley Road.

Due to the rain, work will continue through the evening of Tuesday, October 4th.

· On Saturday, September 17, crews will reduce SR 2 westbound to one lane between SR 306 and Hopkins Road from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to install a culver under the roadway.

· Through approximately September 23, crews will close two lanes on SR 615 north or southbound, under the SR 2 overpass, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to perform bridge painting operations.
