Support Services Division

The Support Services Division has been temporarily reorganized with the retirement of Captain James Telzrow. Due to ongoing projects and plans in the information technology area, Captain Jeffrey Reese continues to oversee this area. Therefore, command of the support services division units has been temporarily divided among the current captains. Captain Reese will oversee the police records unit. Captain John Jaros will command the corrections unit, court liaison, and dispatch center. Captain Kevin Knight will be in charge of property and evidence and police vehicles. These assignments will remain until circumstances allow them to again be consolidated under one command.

Support services encompass the units of the department consisting primarily of civilian employees but providing integral support to the mission of the Police Department. Without any of these components in place, the Mentor Police Department would cease to function in the efficient manner for which it has come to known. Each of these units is made up of employees who strive to exhibit the utmost of professionalism in their jobs and come to work on a daily basis with a main goal of serving the public.

The units which make up the support services division include police emergency dispatch, the records division, property and evidence, court liaison, and the corrections unit. Links for each of these units can be found on this site.
