Nuisance AnimalsThe City of Mentor will provide free trapping of raccoons, opossums, ground hogs and skunks to residents 65 and over who qualify for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). If you are having a problem with any of the animals listed above, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at (440) 974-5720 to receive this free service.

Critter X, an animal control company, will remove a trapped animal for $15 per animal. Other nuisance animal trappers may also provide this service
  2. Call the Parks and Recreation Department to request a list of licensed trappers, or look in the Yellow Pages under Animal Removal Services
  3. Call the Lake County Health District at 350-2543 or the Lake County Cooperative Extension Service at 350-2582 for tips on how to keep nuisance animals out of your yard.
