Learn to Skate Lessons

The Civic Ice Arena follows the United States Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills Program in providing Learn-to-Skate lessons to all persons three years of age and older.

Learn to Skate Lessons
The Learn-to-Skate program advances skaters on a natural progression: children ages three to five must begin in the Tot Program; children ages six and up begin with the Basic Program. Adults of all ages are welcome to participate in a Basic Program for Adults Only. Tot lessons are 30 minutes long and held once a week for seven weeks. All other Learn-to-Skate classes are 45 minutes long and are also held once a week for seven weeks.

Tot 1 / Tot 2 / Tot 3 / Basic 1 / Basic 2 / Basic 3 / Basic 4 / Basic 5 / Basic 6 / Basic 7 / Basic 8 /

New skaters begin with either Tot 1 or Basic 1, depending on their age. Skaters who have passed all eight levels of the Basic Program can continue working at the freestyle level. Please contact the rink at (440) 974-5730 for more information on freestyle lessons.

Skaters who have passed at least Level 6 of the Basic Program can continue learning  in the
Jr. Club/Freestyle Class
/ Basic 7 /or / Basic 8 courses.

An Adult Learn to Skate course is also offered for beginner, intermediate and advanced skaters.

Private Lessons
