Civic Center Day Camp
Completed Grades K – 5
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
We’ve got big plans for Civic Center Day Camp this summer and a summer full of adventures planned! Civic Center Day Camp has three different age-based camps: Superstars are children having completed grades K & 1; Ventures have completed grades 2 & 3; and Explorers are children having completed grades 4 & 5.
All camps meet Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. daily at Civic Center Park, a 90-acre park located in the heart of the Mentor Civic Center complex, where campers have access to daily swimming, open green space, tennis, basketball and more! Camp counselors team up to plan weekly activities following a unique theme. Campers take field trips, participate in games and contests, arts and crafts, swim and play sports. We spend our camp day outdoors in the park and have daily swim time, where the basics of Red Cross levels 1 through 6 lessons are reviewed by Water Safety Instructors. Field trips are an exciting and integral part of camp. Campers take at least two trips each week.
Head Counselors are certified school teachers. Enthusiastic college and high school students assist them with a ratio of approximately 1 to 10. All trip fees, materials, supplies and a camp t-shirt are included in the cost of camp. Civic Center day campers can take advantage of before and after camp care located at the Mentor Ice Arena. Wear to camp: sunscreen, comfortable clothing for the weather (t-shirt, shorts, sweatshirt) and tennis shoes (no sandals). Bring to camp: lunch/drink, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, backpack, water bottle. 2012 Camp Information Form
