Adult Classes

Basic Drawing

Instructor: Sandy D’Amico
We will cover basic techniques using standard drawing pencils. Assorted textures with different subject matter will be addressed. Projects will include learning to draw everyday objects, animals and portraits. Supplies required: assorted graphite pencils, pencil sharpener, kneaded eraser, and pad of Strathmore Bristol Smooth drawing paper (9 x 12 or 11 x 14).

Crochet At Wildwood

In these crochet classes, you will explore hook sizes, yarn selection, and some basic crochet stitches.  As you become more experience, you will learn more advanced stitches; explore shaping through increasing and decreasing, as well as stitches that can add texture and dimension to your work.

Multi-Media Art Class

Enjoy the opportunity to create art in the media of your choice, which includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil,  pastel or colored pencil and more! Classes are held in a spacious light filled room with views of the surrounding grounds. Students will receive a continuous one on one education in a relaxed setting. All levels of artistic development, from the beginning student to the more mature artist, are welcome. Since classes are taught one on one, students will advance at their own pace. Some classes will include a brief lecture and/or demonstration of art theories or principles. If you wish to start something new Dottie will recommend the supplies you will need. Bring your supplies and subject matter to the first class. Come prepared to learn, create, experiment and enjoy art!

Painting with Watercolors

Learning to paint with watercolors can be fun and provide you with new artistic talent.  This class will include a comprehensive study of landscape painting directed toward the beginning student.  Color, form, size and design will be studied with completed works as a result.  A material supply list will be sent to you by the instructor one week before class starts.

Photoshop Elements 101

Introduction to navigating the vast arrangement of tools in this powerful and very affordable Adobe software. Learn the fundamentals of image processing after image capture.  Must-know basics include cropping, sizing, sharpening, color correction, layers, retouching and many others.  Class will include a Power-Point presentation demonstrating the tools as they are applied to everyday photography.

Senior Classes

All Media Painting
Senior
Learn all of the fundamentals of art in this basics class. You will learn composition, design, color, and more in a relaxed atmosphere.

Creative Ceramics
Senior
Join us for seasonal ceramic projects. Your creative instructor will provide instruction and firing. You can select your project. Greenware fee is payable to instructor and a $5 material fee is due at registration and includes use of paints and brushes. All levels of students are welcome.

Whether you feel you might have some untapped talent, rusty talent, or just need to try something new, this class will equip you to draw basic shapes, shade, and teach you perspective.  Six simple lessons will provide you with enough basic skills to continue building your foundation for future art interests.

Drawing – Intermediate

Once you have the ABC’s of drawing down, you’ll be ready to continue into the intermediate level.  In this class we’ll continue to apply the knowledge of shapes to portraiture, figure, still life, and landscape drawing in intermediate drawing.  Art supplies needed: an 11′x14′ or 16′x20′ sketch pad, ebony pencil, any variety you may wish to purchase.

Scrapbooking
Senior

A beginner class to acquaint the participant with the basics of scrapbooking design. Participants will learn how to use techniques that are fundamental to creating scrapbooks. Color, depth, style, and shapes are a few of the many options we will explore throughout the class. Participants will be required to provide an 8 x 8 scrapbook available at local craft stores, along with family photographs to be included in the book. At the conclusion of the class, the student will have a completed scrapbook to treasure forever.

Tuesday Morning Quilters

Join Dorothy and our Tuesday morning quilters. Students should bring to each class  material, sewing machine, sewing supplies, ruler, and notions of your choice.
