Adult Classes
Painting with Watercolors
Adult
Learning to paint with watercolors can be fun and provide you with new artistic talent. This class will include a comprehensive study of landscape painting directed toward the beginning student. Color, form, size and design will be studied with completed works as a result. A material supply list will be sent to you by the instructor one week before class starts.
Multi Media Art Class

Enjoy the opportunity to create art in the media of your choice, which includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, pastel or colored pencil and more! Classes are held in a spacious light filled room with views of the surrounding grounds. Students will receive a continuous one on one education in a relaxed setting. All levels of artistic development, from the beginning student to the more mature artist, are welcome. Since classes are taught one on one, students will advance at their own pace. Some classes will include a brief lecture and/or demonstration of art theories or principles. If you wish to start something new, Dottie will recommend the supplies you will need. Bring your supplies and subject matter to the first class. Come prepared to learn, create, experiment and enjoy art!
Create an Accessory Brooch

Join the fun – join the creativity! You will make a textile brooch/pin with your choice of silk fabrics, fibers, beads or buttons. Samples will be available to help you decide if you would like a traditional, antique or boutique style look to add to your fall wardrobe. It will be a one-of-a-kind accessory to embellish any scarf, belt, sweater, etc. The brooch could also be pinned to a purse or pillow for embellishment. The applications are limitless! Some simple hand sewing required. All supplies are provided by instructor.
Rubber Stamping for Beginners

Learn the basics of rubber stamping and explore the endless possibilities of decorative stamping to achieve beautiful greeting cards, scrapbooking & other craft items. We will learn about different supplies, tools and techniques from the how to, to the when to. Please bring to class: small scissors, double sided tape, Tombow aqua glue, ruler, lead pencil, black pigment ink pad, black dye ink pad, clear embossing powder & a box/kit to hold all supplies.
Rubber Stamping for Holidays & Other Occasions

This class is for the intermediate stamper who has the basic stamps. We will use different supplies and tools to make boo-a-ful Halloween cards, grateful Thanksgiving, & joyous Christmas cards and more! Please bring to class: paper cutter, small scissors, X-acto knife & pad, double sided tape, Tombow aqua glue, stamp cleaners, ruler, lead pencil, stamp positioner, black pigment ink pad, clear embossing powder, heat gun, embossing tray, colored pencil or markers.

Art Workshops

Spend a Saturday this fall studying new painting techniques with well known artists in these inspiring workshops sponsored by the City of Mentor’s Wildwood Cultural Center and Community Arts Commission. All workshops will be held at: the Mentor Senior Center, 8484 Munson Road, Mentor. The fee to participate in each of these workshops is $35.00. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Crochet for Beginners
