Build Your Own Rain Barrel
Build your own rain barrel and you’ll find a gallon of ways to water wisely with the free water collected from your roof! Rain water is great because it’s usually soft and free of dissolved minerals. It’s also great for your indoor plants, garden and lawn, and washing your car! You can connect and use your rain barrel in areas where you may not have a convenient spigot, too, to get those hard-to-water areas. We’ll provide all of the materials needed, including a diverter that connects to your downspout. This is great one-night project and families are welcome to participate together too. (Cost is per rain barrel) This program is in cooperation with the staff of the Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District.
