Digital Photography to the Max

Dig into the many tools and techniques available to anyone with today’s modern digital camera.  Learn that it is not pixel count that matters.  Camera controls will be explained in plain English as well as how to use them to their fullest potential.  Camera and lighting techniques for images that rise above the common snapshot will also be presented.  Sample photos will be in abundance.  People, plants, landscapes, events:  we will cover these subjects and how to photograph them effectively.  If you have already taken a basic photography class, this is the next step for better photography.  Q & A time will be allowed so that students will come away with a greater knowledge of the photographic craft.

Horseback Riding for Adults to Seniors

A weekly, one-hour lesson, for adults through seniors, will teach the fundamentals of horsemanship: how to walk, trot to work safely around horses. Equestrian sport is an activity that spans all age groups and is enjoyed on the competitive level by riders in their seventies.  Participants will need to wear boots with a small heel and long pant.  Helmets are provided.  Maypine provides an indoor arena for riders and an observation area for spectators.  Visit their website at www.maypinefarm.com for information or to learn more about the award-winning program.

Explore areas of science that you do not get in school. Kids ages 8 – 12 will get a holistic experience with hands-on experiements and discovery activities selected from the exciting world of science. We’ll create long lasting impressions and foster a passion with supervised activities such as soda pop eruptions, play with various polymers, look at light, spectra and colors, cool experiements using gravity, balance, density, buoyancy, and sounds, and analyze unusual phenomena. Eb Molesch is a professional chemist with over 4 decades of analytical experience. Wear clothing that can get messy. All safety equipment will be provided.
