VICTIM ASSISTANCE ADVOCATE
The City of Mentor is seeking an individual to fill the position of Victim Assistance Advocate. This full-time position provides various types of assistance to victims of crime. The successful candidate will possess considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships. Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in criminal justice or a related field is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office software, grant writing and grant management responsibility is desired. High school graduation/GED is required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Annual range of pay: $33,065 – $49,350 (DOQ) along with a comprehensive benefit package. BUS DRIVER – PART-TIME
The City of Mentor has an immediate need for a part-time bus driver for our after school skating program. Hours of work: 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Potential for additional hours for special events, etc. Requirements: Must possess a valid State of Ohio commercial’s driver license (CDL) Class C, and be a high school graduate (or GED). CIVIC ARENA POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The City of Mentor is seeking individuals to fill the following part-time/temporary positions at the Civic Ice Arena:
FACILITY ATTENDANT – Work involves a variety of tasks to assist the arena staff members and the public when utilizing the Civic Ice Arena. Excellent customer service is required. This position is considered temporary as the hours of work required are irregular. Work hours vary and will include evening and weekend hours. Rate of pay: $9.00/hr. High school graduation or GED required.
CASHIER – Job duties include handling front desk transactions at the Civic Ice Arena. Excellent customer service is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is desired. This position is considered temporary as the hours of work required are irregular. Work hours vary and will include evening and weekend hours. Rate of pay: $8.10/hr. High school student, graduation or GED required.
SKATING ATTENDANT – Job duties include the presence on the ice to guard skaters during open skate sessions and other programs. Skating experience is required. This position is considered part-time as the hours of work are regularly scheduled. Hours of work include day, evening and weekends. Rate of pay: $8.10/hr. High school student, graduation or GED required.

NATURAL RESOURCE ASSISTANT – TEMPORARY/INTERNSHIP
The City of Mentor is seeking individuals to assist the Natural Resource Specialists with the white-tailed deer management program. These positions are available for immediate and December start dates. From December through February, this position will assist with culling activities, bow hunting program management and collaboration with other agencies. From February to April, this position will participate in nuisance Canada goose control, invasive plant control and habitat restoration, habitat monitoring, recreational programming and planning along with various natural resource management tasks. Must be able to work a varied schedule comprised of outdoor activities in all weather conditions and office hours. These temporary positions will work through April 30, 2016, or up to the completion of 840 work hours. Hourly rate of pay: $9.00. Currently enrolled student or graduate of wildlife management, natural resources, ecology, biology or a related field is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office software with an emphasis on Excel, and GIS software. High school graduation/GED is required. Must have a valid driver’s license. The City of Mentor Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of part-time firefighter/EMT. Must be a US Citizen or be eligible to legally work in the US, at least 18 years of age, have a valid Ohio Drivers License, High School Diploma or GED. Minimum qualifications include the completion of Ohio Firefighter 1 and EMT Basic training. Firefighter II, Paramedic training along with some experience is preferred. Applicants must successfully complete all hiring requirements. Starting rate of pay: $15.88/hr. Other compensation incentives are available.
