The City of Mentor is seeking a part-time Corrections Officer to perform duties related to maintaining security in the city jail, including booking and supervising prisoners, preserving order, recordkeeping and various maintenance functions within the jail. Position requires approximately 25 hours of work per week; work hours may vary and will include weekends and holidays. High school graduate or GED required. Must be certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) as a Basic Corrections Officer. The City of Mentor is seeking a responsible individual to work part-time at Black Brook Golf Course as an Assistant Manager/Golf Instructor. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and work approximately 28 hours per week. Duties include opening, closing, supervising and providing golf instruction for adults and juniors. Golf course management experience is desirable. High school or GED required. P.G.A. membership or apprenticeship preferred. The City of Mentor is seeking a part-time Natural Resource Specialist to perform a wide range of activities in administering the city’s natural resource programs. This position requires considerable knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of natural resource programs. Duties will include assistance with the white-tailed deer management program, including culling activities. Participate in nuisance Canada goose control, invasive plant control and habitat restoration, habitat monitoring, recreational programming and planning. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate well with the public. Must be able to work a varied schedule comprised of outdoor activities in all weather conditions and office hours 20-25 hours per week. Bachelor’s degree with major course work in natural resources, ecology, biology, park management, or a related field is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office software with an emphasis on Excel, and GIS software. High school graduation/GED and valid driver’s license is required. Hourly range of pay: $15.90 – $23.73 (DOQ). The City of Mentor has an immediate need for a part-time bus driver for our after school skating program. Hours of work: 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday. The City of Mentor Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of part-time firefighter/EMT. Must be a US Citizen or be eligible to legally work in the US, at least 18 years of age, have a valid Ohio Drivers License, High School Diploma or GED. Minimum qualifications include the completion of Ohio Firefighter 1 and EMT Basic training. Firefighter II, Paramedic training along with some experience is preferred. Applicants must successfully complete all hiring requirements. Starting rate of pay: $15.88/hr. Other compensation incentives are available.
