Welcome to Mentor!
This year, Mentor celebrates its 50th anniversary as a city. To mark this milestone, we’re hosting a number of special events … like the Headlands BeachFest … with kite flying, sandcastle building and non stop art activities and games. It will be held at Headlands Beach State Park on Saturday, July 27 (voted THE BEST BEACH IN NORTHEAST OHIO by the readers of Cleveland Scene magazine).
Then, there’s Mentor CityFest, which will be held at Civic Center Park on August 23 and 24. Expected to be the biggest event of the year, there will be fun attractions and activities never before seen in Mentor, Ohio!! Keep checking the website as more details are posted.
The City of Mentor actively works to provide our residents with an open, accessible government. It is in this spirit of communication that we present our official website. In addition to using this site, we communicate regularly through our quarterly newsletters, e-newsletters, recreation brochures, The Mentor Channel 12 and on Mentor Radio 1620. We also maintain an active presence on Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest! For a quick overview of our community, check out the Mentor City Magazine. And if it’s not convenient to call us at (440) 255-1100, just send us your inquiries, requests for service, comments and suggestions.
If you’re a business owner looking for a vital community in which to locate or expand your business, there’s an array of Business Services offered through our Economic Development Department. Mentor is home to a significant number of biomedical firms and international and national corporate headquarters; our staff works hard to encourage the growth of young companies and offers many attractive incentives to ensure success.
Mentor is also popular with visitors who come to shop, hike or just hang out. Consider Headlands Beach — Ohio’s longest and best swimming beach; the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve and adjoining Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve boast over a mile of natural beach and more than 1,000 acres of trails, boardwalks and wildlife. There’s also the James A. Garfield National Historic Site, home of our 20th U.S. President, and many, many shopping and dining opportunities.
Mentor, Ohio — named to the 100 Best Places to Live by Money magazine in 2006 and 2010, and to Smart Money’s Best Places to Retire in Ohio in 2012. You’re sure you’ll find that Mentor’s just a great place to live, work, play, or visit!
