Unofficial results of the November 4, 2025, general election in the city of Mentor are as follows:

Mentor Municipal Court
Judge John Trebets (100%) was unopposed in the race for Mentor Municipal Court. Judge Trebets’ next term will commence on January 1, 2026.

Mentor Councilperson-at-Large
Janet A. Dowling (65.22%) defeated Jamey Altizer (34.78%) for the Councilperson-at-Large position. Mrs. Dowling’s next term will commence on January 1, 2026.

Mentor Councilperson-at-Large
Ray Kirchner (68.23%) defeated Scott J. Marn (31.77%) for the Councilperson-at-Large position. Mr. Kirchner’s next term will begin on January 2, 2026.

Mentor Councilperson-at-Large
Votes were split between Annie Payne (46.21%), Brian Cook (46.19%), and Barry Sneed (7.60%) for the Councilperson-at-Large position. The winning tally was separated by 3 votes, and fell within a 1% margin which will require an automatic recount.  The outcome will be announced by the Lake County Board of Elections within the next several weeks. The winner’s term will begin January 3, 2026.

Mentor Issue 4
The proposed change in zoning for 12.7 acres on Deepwood Boulevard was defeated by a margin of 58.2% to 41.8%.

Mentor Issue 5
The proposed change in zoning for 14.5 acres on Adkins Road was defeated by a margin of 56.47% to 43.53%.
