This morning at 2:48 AM, multiple units from the Mentor Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the first-floor laundry room at the Park House Apartments located at 7945 Mentor Avenue.
All residents were evacuated safely, but extensive damage was sustained in the boiler room leaving the building without heat for the foreseeable future.
The Red Cross was on scene to assist with the needs of the displaced residents. The Mentor Senior Center has been activated as a shelter until those residents can make other housing arrangements.
