Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate in May 2026 for the City of Mentor increased 0.1% to 2.6% and in May 2025, the unemployment rate was 3.7%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 2.8% in May 2026 and one year prior, it was 3.9%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.5%, Mentor and Cuyahoga Falls have the next lowest rate at 2.6%, and Kettering and Columbus have the third lowest rate with 2.8% followed by Cleveland Heights with 2.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,400.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.1% to 3.0% in May 2026. The rate for the State was 4.5% in May 2025.
