Mentor welcomes Mykonos Gyro, a warm and inviting spot that brings authentic Mediterranean flavors to our community. From the moment you walk in, the open kitchen fills the air with the irresistible aroma of freshly prepared food, and the space is infused with Greek culture and hospitality.
Brothers Arber and Izol Bajrami, immigrated from Albania 20 years ago in pursuit of the American dream.
“As immigrants, you always want to do better and be better in America,” Izol says. That drive, combined with their deep love for Greek cuisine, inspired them to open Mykonos Gyro.
Izol first came to the U.S. on a student visa, where he met his wife, Crystal. After marrying and starting a family of four children, the brothers decided it was time to share their heritage through food. Crystal now makes the restaurant’s highly praised baklava from scratch every day, while the menu’s standout rice bowls and burgers have quickly become local favorites.
Despite its cozy size, Mykonos Gyro is designed to feel like home. “We wanted to keep it small so it feels like family,” Izol explains. “Mentor is a safe, family-oriented city, and we wanted our restaurant to be a place where families can come and enjoy time together.” Arber adds, “I’m so happy with Mentor. This has been a great city, and the people are wonderful.”
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive as “97% of guests leave happy and full”. The brothers are grateful for the warm welcome and excited to keep serving Mentor.
We thank Mykonos Gyro for their investment in our community and wish them continued success.
