July 26, Noon to 8 PM, Headlands Beach State Park
It’s not your typical day at the beach!beach fest 2014 logo FINAL

For last year’s premier event the weather was a bit damp! But it did not keep approximately 3,500 people from coming out to spend the day at the beach — playing games, building sandcastles, learning to kayak, and making art. Check out the City of Mentor’s facebook page for more photos from the event.

This year, the event will also be a stop on the Lake County #InstaTour, a new activity organized by the Lake County Visitors Bureau, offering weekend deals for families.

Our mile-long lInstaTour adakefront will be filled with colorful flying kites, sand castles, live music, strolling performers, kayaking, dancing and tents filled with children’s activities, arts & craft vendors, and food.

At approximately, 8:50 p.m., the setting sun was clearly visible through the center of his sculpture.

And there’s no need to bring a picnic — an array of refreshments will be offered by Lakeside Snacks, Lou’s Classic Kettle Corn, Frut and the Fired Up Taco Truck.

Stroll among the more than 20 arts and craft vendors who will line the paved walkway selling beach glass jewelry, driftwood items, wind chimes, sea shell glass jars, beach-themed paintings, pottery, mosaic vases, sandals, beach bags and more.
