Get ready, Mentor. Work on the SR-306/SR-2 overpass is slated for repairs this winter. Bids were recently opened with the contract awarded to BECDIR Construction Co. from Youngstown, Ohio for the repair of the parapet and replacement of the fence. Additional work will include repair of the sidewalk and curbing where needed.
Two-way traffic will be maintained with curb lane closures. Most of the work will take place during the day between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM with some work occurring at night when SR-2 lane closures are required.
Once completed, the bridge will have a similar look to that of the SR-615/I-90 overpass and include the Mentor city seal and lettering to improve the aesthetics at this important gateway to our city.
The cost of the project is estimated at $384,975.50 and is scheduled for completion in June, 2020.
