Hands-only CPR class now offered!

The Hands-only CPR class is a short and effective overview of Hands-only CPR that includes practice to build a student’s confidence.  Hands-only CPR is for use on adult sudden cardiac arrest victims, and can dramatically increase their odds of survival. This course does not provide any certification, but teaches you the knowledge to help save a life and to help increase the survival rates of sudden cardiac arrest victims.  This course is also covered in all of the other CPR courses. This course can be held at community events or at churches, meetings, block parties, etc.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

CPR course for healthcare providers: mandatory skills test and written test.  Course covers Infant, Child, and Adult versions of CPR, AED, and choking. Mandatory student manual BLS for Healthcare Providers  is required for class and should be read prior to class.  This booklet can be borrowed from the Mentor Fire Department before your scheduled class.  The certification card expires two years from the course date. Course is approx. 4-½ hours in length. Cost is $35 for residents and Mentor businesses, or $45 for nonresidents. Due to limited seating, you must be registered to attend this class. These classes are held at Mentor Fire Station 5, 8467 Civic Center Blvd. Training Room: Basement Level.  Contact Public Education by calling (440) 974-5768 for a Registration Form.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

Designed for the workplace which needs to meet various standards; or for the public.  This course is not a Healthcare Provider course. This course covers First Aid, along with CPR, AED, and choking for Adult, Child, and Infant. Mandatory student manual Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook is required for class and should be read prior to class. This booklet can be borrowed from the Mentor Fire Department before your scheduled class. The certification card expires two years from the course date, and is issued after successfully completing  the skills test. Course is approx. 8 hours in length. Cost is $50 each for residents and Mentor businesses, or $60 each  for non-residents. Due to length of class, there is a mandatory 10 student minimum for a private class.

All CPR and First Aid Classes require registration. Classes are restricted to a limited number of students.
