In consideration of guidance provided by the State of Ohio and the Lake County General Health District, the City of Mentor is disappointed to announce the cancellation of all recreation events and activities through June 30, 2020. This includes summer camps, summer hikes and educational classes, Earth Day Celebration, On-Tap, and all events at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater. In addition, the opening of swimming pools and splash parks will be delayed until at least June 30th.
Other City facilities, including the Mentor Ice Arena, Wildwood Cultural Center, and Mentor Senior Center, as well as pickleball courts, basketball courts, playground equipment, and skate parks remain closed until state and local orders restricting their use are lifted and the risk to public health is diminished.
City Parks, Black Brook Golf Course, and the Mentor Lagoons Marina (for dockers only) remain open with rules in place to protect the health and safety of users and employees. Residents are encouraged to continue to use our park system and trails while practicing safe social distancing.
It is our desire to provide the fullest schedule of summer events and activities for our community to enjoy that can be conducted in a safe manner. We are hopeful future cancelations can be avoided, however, due to the uncertain nature of the pandemic, updated information will be provided as circumstances change.
Full refunds will be issued for all cancelled June camps/events in the same manner in which they were paid. Refund receipts will be emailed or mailed upon completion. We hope to process all refunds within the next two weeks.
