Mentor Municipal Center

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.5% to 3.6% for the month of March 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.6%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 4.1% for the month of March; one year prior, it was 5.2%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.3%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 3.4%. Columbus has the third lowest rate with 3.5%, and Mentor has the fourth lowest rate at 3.6%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased 100 to 26,600.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.2% to 4.0% for the month of March 2023. The rate for the State was 4.3% in March 2022.
