Mentor Municipal Center

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.8% to 2.9% for the month of July 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.2%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 3.2% for the month of July; one year prior, it was 4.4%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.9%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 3.1%. Kettering has the third lowest rate with 3.2%, and Columbus, Parma and Cuyahoga Falls have the fourth lowest rate at 3.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 200 to 27,600.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 3.4% for the month of July 2023. The rate for the State was 4.3% in July 2022.
