Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.3% to 3.0% for the month of September 2024. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.0%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 3.1% for the month of September; one year prior, it was 3.1%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor and Lakewood have the lowest unemployment rate with 3.0%, Parma has the next lowest rate at 3.3%, Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 3.5%, and Kettering has the fourth lowest rate at 4.1%, and Columbus and Cuyahoga Falls have the fifth lowest rate at 4.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 100 to 27,400.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate remained at 4.2% for the month of September 2024. The rate for the State was 3.4% in September 2023.
