Mentor Police Now Hiring

The Mentor Police Department is looking to add new officers to their team.

The Mentor Police Department strives to be a model for other agencies to follow through their commitment to professionalism.  This is achieved through rigorous screening of officer applicants, a strict code of conduct, modern and comprehensive policies and procedures, constant training, critical review of officer performance, investigation of all cases involving the use of force, and cultivating an overall culture that places service and assistance above enforcement.

Annual salary for patrol officers ranges from $61,953.58 to $86,905.26 with full healthcare and other benefits.

Qualification requirements include: A high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 20-years old at time of application and 21-years old at time of appointment. No person is eligible for an original appointment as a Mentor Police Officer on or after their thirty-sixth (36th) birthday. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must successfully complete required police training and achieve Basic Training Certification.

Candidates must also take a Written Examination, Tri-C Physical Agility Test, Background Investigation, Polygraph Examination, Medical Examination, Psychological Test, Drug Screening and Oral interview and must be a U.S. Citizen at time of appointment.
