Mentor City Council recently amended the Mentor Code of Ordinances governing when garbage containers can be placed and retrieved from the curb. Garbage cans, recycling containers, bulk items and yard waste* may only be placed at the curb after 3 PM on the day before the items are to be collected. After collection, garbage cans, recycling bins and yard waste containers must be retrieved from the curb by 7 AM the day after your collection.
*During the fall, the yard waste restriction does not apply beginning on the weekend immediately preceding the 4th Monday in October through Friday of the second full week in December in any year of city sponsored yard waste collection.
