The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.3% to 2.2% for the month of November 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 2.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.3% to 2.3% for the month of November; one year prior, it was 3.2%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.2%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 2.4%. Parma has the third lowest rate with 2.7%, Kettering has the fourth lowest rate at 2.8%, and Columbus has the fifth lowest rate at 2.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 200 to 27,100.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.5% to 3.0% for the month of November 2023. The rate for the State was 3.4% in November 2022.
