The City of Mentor is currently planning our annual Memorial Day Observance and invites veterans groups, civic groups, and members of our community, to participate.
The ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Mentor Municipal Cemetery located at 6681 Hopkins Road. It will be preceded by a solemn procession which will step-off at 9:30 AM from Memorial Middle School located at 8979 Mentor Avenue. The procession will proceed north on Hopkins Road and enter the cemetery at the third entrance, stopping at the Memorial Promenade. Participants are invited to gather at the school at 8:30 AM. Further instructions including procession order will be provided at that time.
All participants are reminded that this is a solemn event held in honor of our nation’s war dead.  Therefore candy distribution, political signs, shirts, buttons or other political paraphernalia, and commercial messages, are prohibited from the procession and ceremony.
