REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026 HOMETOWN HEROES BANNER PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED

Please email [email protected] to be added to the 2027 notification list. Applications will be posted in January 2027.

Since 2017, the City of Mentor’s Hometown Heroes banner program has paid tribute to our veterans.  Join us as we honor current or former Mentor residents who have served (or currently serve) our country in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, or Coast Guard.

A limited number of banner positions are available, and requests will be honored on a first-come / first-served basis. Banners measure 30” x 60” and are double sided and will be displayed on light posts along Center Street between I-90 and Mentor Avenue from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. At the end of the season, banners will be taken down and given to families/sponsors as a keepsake.

Families and organizations can sponsor banners for $100.00 each to cover production costs.

Deadline for participation is April 15, 2026, or until all positions are filled. Banners will be available for pick up after November 15, 2026. The City of Mentor is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed, due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature.
