Responsible RestartOhio Plan
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Dr. Amy Acton, MD, MPH, made several major announcements regarding Ohio’s plan to responsibly restart Ohio’s economy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning May 1, 2020, all medically necessary procedures that do not require an overnight stay in a healthcare facility or do not require inpatient hospital admission and minimizes use of personal protective equipment may move forward.
Beginning on May 4, 2020, manufacturing, distribution, and construction businesses may reopen if these businesses can meet mandatory safety requirements for customers and employees.
Beginning on May 12, 2020, consumer, retail and services, may reopen if these businesses can meet mandatory safety requirements for customers and employees.

Class of 2020 Graduation
The Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Health issued the following suggestions for local schools and health departments:
- Virtual graduation ceremonies (preferred)
- Drive-in ceremonies where students drive to a designated location at a designated time to get their diplomas
- Outdoor ceremonies with 10 people or less who are socially distanced

Do you need sanitizer, sewed masks, face shields, gowns, and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep your employees safe during COVID-19? The Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 has launched the Ohio Emergency PPE Makers’ Exchange, an online marketplace where organizations that need PPE and related equipment can find a selection offered by Ohio manufacturers and makers — many of which have retooled to produce in-demand products. Laketran COVID-19 Procedures
The following information was provided to by Laketran addressing changes to services and procedures.
Essential Trips Only
Laketran continues to request that residents limit travel on public transit to essential trips.
Park-n-Ride Resumes May 4
With general office settings reopening on May 4, 2020 all Laketran Park-n-Ride routes will resume their regular schedules.
Fare Suspension Extended
To continue practicing social distancing on board buses, Laketran is suspending fare collection on all trips until May 31, 2020. Customers will not be charged for their trips.
Let’s Ride Safely Together.
To help protect customers and employees, Laketran strongly recommends all customers and employees wear a face covering or mask while riding public transportation, in addition to social distancing. Customers can request a mask be mailed to them for their next trip on Laketran by filling out a form online or calling 440-354-6100. Due to limited supply, they can only provide one mask per customer. Face coverings can also be made with items such as scarves, bandanas, or t-shirts. The last day for the Senior Grocery Delivery program is Thursday, May 14, 2020. Please be aware, 211 and the Council on Aging are already booking nearly two weeks in advance for delivery dates. If you are still in need of assistance beyond the program end date, please contact Lifeline by dialing 2-1-1 or 440-639-4420, or call the Lake County Council on Aging at 440-205-8111 for information on other resources and services available during this time.

Respond to the Census…Make Mentor Count
If you haven’t completed the Census yet, please take the opportunity to do so today. When you respond to the census, you help ensure that Mentor gets its fair share of the more than $675 billion per year in federal funds spent on schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs. Results of the Census also help how determine how many seats each state gets in Congress. State and local officials also use census counts to draw boundaries for congressional, state legislative, and school districts. Participating in the census isn’t just a chance to make a difference in our community, it’s also the law.
