The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increases 0.4% to 5.3% for the month of March 2022. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 5.7%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 6.0% for the month of March; one year ago, it was 6.0%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor has the sixth lowest unemployment rate with Lakewood having the fifth lowest rate at 5.2% and Springfield is fourth with 4.7%. Cuyahoga Falls has the third lowest rate with 3.9%, Columbus has the second lowest at 3.4% and Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 100 to 25,900.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 4.4% for the month of March 2022.
