The [unveiled] Lake County Art Contest recognizes the work of locally known and emerging artists living in Lake County.
Created in 1993, the contest attracts features over 60 entries annually over a wide variety of categories including watercolor, oil & acrylic, photography, drawing, mixed media, and digital works.
Interested artists can deliver their work, along with the completed submission form and entry fee, to the Mentor Municipal Center on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 between 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Artists must be at least 16 years of age and residents of Lake County. One entry per artist. Individual entry fee is $10.00 (non-refundable).
This is a juried exhibit. A public reception for participating artists will be held on Friday September 16, 2022, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Mentor Municipal Center.
Artwork will remain on display at Mentor Municipal Center from September 12 through October 7, 2022 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM weekdays.
Monetary awards for first and second place will be given to all media categories. The Best of Show Award winner will also be featured with an exclusive solo exhibition at the Mentor Municipal Center in 2023.
The City of Mentor reserves the right to decline any artwork which is deemed inappropriate for public viewing. Refer to the Entry Form for a complete list of rules.
[unveiled] is presented by the City of Mentor’s Community Arts Commission in memory of local artist Dorothy McNamara Maloney. The Mentor Municipal Center is located at 8500 Civic Center Boulevard.
