NOPEC has advised that electrical customers that were on a budget billing / equal payment plan may have received a larger than usual energy bill. The monthly payment amount was based off of a percentage of the customer’s estimated projected annual energy usage and rate.
Customers transitioning from NOPEC electric supply that were on these plans may not have been paying for the full amount of energy they were using over previous months based on the annual average, and the utility is now billing for the remainder of the balance based on actual past usage and supply rate, which occurs with any supplier change.
