The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.9% to 2.7% for the month of April 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.0%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 1.0% to 3.1% for the month of April; one year prior, it was 4.3%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering and Mentor have the lowest unemployment rate with 2.7%, Columbus has the next lowest rate at 3.0%. Lakewood has the third lowest rate with 3.1%, and Cuyahoga Falls has the fourth lowest rate at 3.2%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 100 to 26,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.8% to 3.2% for the month of April 2023. The rate for the State was 3.7% in April 2022.
