The City of Mentor has released its FY 2024 CDBG Annual Plan.
The City of Mentor has been awarded $162,641 in CDBG funds for the program year beginning on October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025. As an entitlement community, the City of Mentor intends to use its allocation (B-24-MC-39-0033) on smaller public service, single family residential rehabilitation and public handicap accessibility projects, which are exempt from environmental review.
The FY 2024 Action Plan is the third-year plan for the five-year Consolidated Plan cycle, which runs from FY 2022 to FY 2026. The city has undertaken a review of community needs, which has been accompanied by community input and guidance on the use of this CDBG allocation. Based on the review, Mentor will be allocating grant funds to programming for supportive services, safe and decent housing, and accessibility improvements for the disabled
The objective of this plan is to reduce housing cost burdens and maintain the housing stock especially for the high number of aging homeowners in Mentor; and secondly, to continue supporting public service agencies operating in Lake County, which provide services to current and former Mentor residents and fulfill the goals of HUD.
Outcomes will be measured in the number of homeowners provided with housing rehabilitation and the number of individuals assisted through the various public service agencies, assistance to homeless and the special needs population.
