Residents are advised that the City of Mentor App for Apple and Android devices has been deactivated. The app was developed in 2015 in order to present a simplified version of information available on the city’s website and had, over time, outlived its usefulness.

The most important aspect – the push notification system – was replaced in 2020 with the Lake County Emergency Management Agency Wireless Emergency Alert System (WENS).

WENS provides subscribers the option to receive notifications via text, email, and/or voice*, related to weather events, emergencies, road closures, and more. Lake County residents can also sign up to receive community specific alerts. Sign up takes less than 60 seconds and can help keep you and your family safe during an emergency. When signing up, be sure to click “City of Mentor” under the specific community Emergency Alerts section.

Those with the City of Mentor app still on their device are advised to simply delete it. For quick access to information from the city of Mentor, add www.cityofmentor.com to your home screen in the settings section of your preferred browser.

The Mentor Channel App is still live and can be downloaded from www.thementorchannel.com.
