Morgan Wallen has taken the country music world by storm with his soulful voice, relatable lyrics, and down-to-earth personality. His songs have a way of cutting straight to the heart, and his authenticity shines through every note he sings. Sacramento-based 7 Summers celebrates this musical phenomenon, offering fans the chance to experience the magic of Morgan Wallen’s songs live on stage.
7 Summers is led by vocalist and industry veteran Bobby Zoppi. We caught up with him to get the word on what fans can expect to see in Mentor on July 15th.
What inspired you to start this tribute band?
I just loved Morgan’s lyrics, melodies, and arrangements.
How long has your band been together?
We’ve been together for eight years; the past three years as a Morgan Wallen tribute.
What’s your favorite onstage moment?
Right when I walk out into the crowd and sing directly to fans. There’s nothing like that moment.
What’s your favorite Morgan Wallen song to perform?
Right now, I think my two favorites are “Cover Me Up” and Lies, Lies, Lies” but I like all of them.
What are you looking forward to for your July 15th Mentor Rocks date?
I can wait for the opportunity to entertain the Mentor crowd and connect with the audience. It’s our first time there so we’re looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully making some new fans.
What can fans expect to see?
You’ll get a lot of energy as well as well-executed songs that are delivered from the heart with dynamics.
Do you have another side gig? What else do you do? Is there another side project?
I do this full time. I was signed to MCA Records and Warner Brother Records a few years ago. I’m a singer/songwriter, as well as also a vocal coach and music producer.
Any other message for the fans?
Come on out and simply enjoy a pro-level performance of Morgan’s incredible songs.
