
The unemployment rate in June 2026 for the City of Mentor increased 0.5% to 3.1% and in June 2025, the unemployment rate was 3.9%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.4% to 3.2% in June 2026 and one year prior, it was 4.1%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.8%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 3.1%, and Cuyahoga Falls has the third lowest rate with 3.3% followed by Kettering, Columbus and Parma with 3.4%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,900.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.7% to 3.7% in June 2026. The rate for the State was 4.5% in June 2025.
