Due to current litigation, Diamond Centre Drive will not be closed at the Painesville corporation line as scheduled on April 7, 2019.
Last night, Mentor City Council voted unanimously to close Diamond Centre Drive at the Painesville corporation limit effective April 7, 2019.
Efforts to achieve compliance with the road-expansion agreement first ordered by the court in 2003 with the City of Painesville and Shamrock Business Center Ltd. have regrettably come to a standstill.
The City of Mentor understands the impact this decision has on businesses and residents along this heavily traveled corridor and looks forward to finding a permanent solution with the City of Painesville and Shamrock.
In the interim, commuters are advised to plan alternate routes.
