The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.6% to 3.7% for the month of June 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.6%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.6% to 4.0% for the month of June; one year prior, it was 4.9%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.3%, Columbus and Cuyahoga Falls has the next lowest rate at 3.5%. Mentor has the third lowest rate with 3.7%, and Lakewood has the fourth lowest rate at 3.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 600 to 27,400.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.4% to 3.8% for the month of June 2023. The rate for the State was 4.4% in June 2022.
