Notice is hereby given that the City of Mentor will hold its third and final public meeting for the FY 2022-2026 Consolidated Plan and FY 2022 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application. The City’s FY 2022 allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is $158,867.

FY 2022 PUBLIC SERVICES: $23,640 (limited to 15% of the total grant award)

Activity 1:                  Lifeline 2-1-1: $5,000
Purpose: To provide funding for the operation of a call center for persons in crises.

Activity 2:                  Lake County Free Clinic (Dental Services): $2,000
Purpose: To provide funds for dental services for low- to moderate-income persons.

Activity 3:                  Lake County Free Clinic (Medical Services): $3,500
Purpose: To provide funds for medical services for low- to moderate-income persons.

Activity 4:                  The Ecumenical Shelter Network of Lake County, Project Hope: $4,500
Purpose: To provide funds for staff costs for operation of the homeless shelter.

Activity 5:                  Mentor Senior Center Special Elders Program: $6,140
Purpose: To provide funds for the operation of programs designed to assist persons 80+ y/o.

Activity 6:                  Forbes House: $2,500
Purpose: To provide funding for the operation of a call center for persons in crises

FY 2022 PROJECTS: $116,500

Activity 7:                  Lake County Free Clinic: $5,000
Purpose: To provide funds for the acquisition and renovation of office space.

Activity 8:                  Western Reserve Community Development Corporation: $60,000
Purpose: To provide funding for the Single-Family Housing Rehabilitation program.

Activity 9:                  Handicap Accessible Sidewalks: $25,000
Purpose: To provide funding for the construction of sidewalk ramps to improve accessibility.

Activity 10:                Mentor Community Recreation Center ADA: $26,500
Purpose: To provide funding for construction projects that improve accessibility.

FY 2022 PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION ACTIVITIES: $18,727 (limited to 20% of total grant award)

Activity 11:                Program Administration: $18,727
Purpose: To provide funds for the administration of the CDBG program.

Public meeting – the City of Mentor will hold a public meeting on July 6, 2022 for the purpose of receiving public input and comments regarding the use of the FY 2022 CDBG funds prior to submitting the FY 2022 Action Plan and 2022-2026 Consolidated Plan to HUD. The public meeting will be held in the council chambers on the third floor of city hall at 8500 Civic Center Boulevard at 3:00 PM. Comments will be received until July 29, 2022
