Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate in April 2026 for the City of Mentor decreased 1.1% to 2.5% and in April 2025, the unemployment rate was 3.5%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 1.2% to 2.7% in April 2026 and one year prior, it was 3.8%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.4%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 2.5%, and Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 2.8% followed by Cuyahoga Falls, Parma, and Kettering with 2.9%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased to 25,300.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.9% to 3.1% in April 2026. The rate for the State was 4.6% in April 2025.
