Mentor Senior Center

Back in 1973, a small group of Mentor residents recognized the need for a place in the community for seniors to gather and interact. There were other clubs at the time for various interests like gardening and arts and crafts, but none specifically for those aged 60 and older. A dozen dedicated people had a vision and as a result, the Mentor Senior Center was established.

Today, over 4,000 members participate in a variety of programs and activities that help make the center a vibrant part of our community.

A 50th Anniversary Open House will be held on June 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM to recognize the history and accomplishments of the Mentor Senior Center.

Members of the public are warmly invited to stroll down memory lane and enjoy photos and memorabilia from the past 50 years. Demonstrations and displays highlighting classes, programs, and events that keep our seniors young will also be available.  Food and beverage stations will be located through the 22,000 square foot facility for guests as they self-tour. City officials will also be on hand to celebrate 50 amazing years and join in for a celebratory cake. A special commemorative gift will be shared with all that attend.

Admittance to the event is free but registration is required. Contact the Mentor Senior Center at (440) 974-5725 or SeniorCenter@cityofmentor.com for additional information or to register.
