A new elite travel hockey team has been formed in the City of Mentor for regional competition in 2015-16.
The (2002) Bantam Team Audi of Mentor represents the best-of-the-best 13 and 14 year olds in Northeast Ohio hockey programs. Players were selected through a tryout process. There are only two other Elite organizations at this level in Northeast Ohio.
“We are excited to get these players on the ice for the upcoming season. Having an elite team on the east side of town will help develop a higher level hockey for more players in the future,” says Shawn Sadler of Team Audi.
Team Audi of Mentor will play an independent, regional schedule against other Bantam teams throughout the Midwest. They are expected to compete in over 60 games as well as 5 or 6 tournaments, through the course of the season which runs from October, 2015 through March, 2016.
“We are excited that we were able to help make this happen. I think it illustrates our commitment to take our programs to the next level,” says Kenn Kaminski, Mentor Parks & Recreation Director.
Team Audi of Mentor will play their home games at Mentor Ice Arena.
