The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.5% to 4.5% for the month of July 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 6.8%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.7% as well to 5.0% for the month of July; one year ago, it was 7.6%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 4.5% unemployment rate is the lowest.   The City’s civilian labor force increased to 26,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 5.9% for the month of July 2021.
