The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.6% to 3.7% for the month of March 2025. One year ago in March 2024, the unemployment rate was 3.6%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.8% to 4.1% for the month of March 2025; one year prior in March 2024, it was 4.1%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.2%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 3.7%, Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 3.8%, and Parma has the fourth lowest rate at 4.1%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 200 to 25,700.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.3% to 5.1% for the month of March 2025. The rate for the State was 4.4% in March 2024.
