The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.3% to 2.8% for the month of October 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 5.3%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.4% as well to 3.4% for the month of October; one year ago, it was 5.8%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 2.8% unemployment rate is the lowest and Lakewood has the second lowest rate at 2.9%. Kettering is third with 3.2%, followed by Cuyahoga Falls with 3.6% and Parma with 3.7%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,900.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.5% to 3.8% for the month of October 2021.
