Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate in March 2026 for the City of Mentor decreased 0.4% to 3.6% and in March 2025, the unemployment rate was 3.8%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.6% to 3.9% in March 2026 and one year prior, it was 4.2%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.2%, Columbus and Kettering have the next lowest rate at 3.5%. Mentor and Cleveland Heights have the third lowest rate with 3.6% followed by Cuyahoga Falls with 3.7%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,800.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 4.0% in March 2026. The rate for the State was 5.1% in March 2025.
