Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.3% to 2.5% for the month of December 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 2.8%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.6% to 2.9% for the month of December; one year prior, it was 3.3%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.5%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 2.6%. Kettering has the third lowest rate with 2.7%, Columbus and Cleveland Heights have the fourth lowest rate at 2.9%, and Cuyahoga Falls has the fifth lowest rate at 3.2%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased 800 to 26,300.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 3.1% for the month of December 2023. The rate for the State was 3.5% in December 2022.
