The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased to 4.3% for the month of January 2019.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.6%.  In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased to 5.0% from 4.7% for the month of January.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the second lowest at 4.3% among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate of 3.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased by 100 to 26,200.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.6% to 5.4% for the month of January.
