Unemployment remains among the lowest in the state.
The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.5% to 4.9% for the month of February 2022. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 6.0%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.6% as well to 5.9% for the month of February; one year ago, it was 6.7%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 4.0% unemployment rate among the lowest, but is the lowest in Northeast Ohio. The City’s civilian labor force moved to 25,800.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate maintained at 4.8%.
