Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.8%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 3.3%. Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 3.5% followed by Parma with 3.8%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 25,700.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.6% to 4.6% in January 2026. The rate for the State was 5.4% in January 2025.
